Dr. Roland Ramusch
Sector specialist – Solid Waste at the Infrastructure Project Preparation Facility, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
Roland Ramusch has extensive work experience in Waste Management since more than 15 years, starting in 2003 as researcher at the Institute of Waste Management at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna. Since 2018 he is working at sector specialist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London.
He has a master degree in Environmental Management and his main fields of interest are waste management in low-income and transition countries. He was involved in projects dealing with integrated sustainable waste management planning, sustainability assessment of waste management systems, e-waste, ship recycling, composting and capacity development in waste management.
His PhD topic was on providing methodologies for the estimation of the size and contribution of informal recycling sector activities. The projects he was involved in cover a wide range of geographical areas in Latin America, Asia, Africa and Central and Eastern Europe. He has published over 60 scientific papers, book chapters and conference papers.
