Ms. Khrenova-Shimkina is an expert with more than 20 years of professional leadership experience in the fields of energy efficiency in municipalities and in housing, local economic development, strategic planning, PPP-based FDI attraction, investment products development.
Ms. Khrenova-Shimkina is an experienced and knowledgeable project leader capable of streamlining a municipal EE strategy, developing an economic business case, and executing a viable project plan. She has managed numerous projects on national regional and municipal level implementing sustainable EE programs, ESCO based models in housing and municipal buildings, as well as setting up energy management and energy monitoring functions. Ms. Khrenova-Shimkina supervised several pilot projects implementation in EE rehabilitation of housing and municipal buildings in 15 municipalities of Ukraine.
With her strong negotiation, organization, managerial, and communication skills she developed robust working relations with national stakeholders (Ministry of Regional Development and Construction, Ministry of Housing and Municipal Economy, State Agency for Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Economy) and local governments throughout Ukraine, as well as with international projects and agencies: EU delegation, USAID, UNDP, EBRD, IFC, EIB, WB, ECS, IEA and others.
Ms. Khrenova-Shimkina is a strong trainer, with experience of organization and conducting of over 340 training sessions for various audiences. She developed training courses/course materials, handbooks, and manuals: over 17 handbooks and manuals, and up to 30 publications in media.
Ms. Khrenova-Shimkina has almost 10 years professional experience in working with GIZ, including 1,5-year experience working at cluster level holding a position of Energy Efficiency Reform Project Deputy Director and partly advising other projects in a cluster.
